JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority)
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is a centralized body established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to manage and regulate the seat allocation process for admissions into premier engineering institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).
🔍 What is JoSAA?
JoSAA was established in 2015 with the aim to streamline the admission process for engineering aspirants across India. It combines the seat allocation processes of different institutions into a single platform, making it easier and more transparent for students to apply for various colleges after qualifying for entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

📜 Eligibility Criteria

⚙️ JoSAA Counselling Process
The entire process is conducted online in the following steps:

Registration & Choice Filling
Candidates register on the JoSAA website and fill in their preferred colleges and branches. -
Mock Allotments
Mock seat allocations are published to help candidates understand their chances. -
Seat Allotment Rounds
Multiple rounds (usually 6–7) of seat allotments are conducted based on merit and preferences. -
Seat Acceptance & Reporting
Candidates accept their seats by paying the seat acceptance fee and uploading documents. -
Final Admission
Candidates report to the allotted institute for physical verification and final admission.
